At The Village Church, our children’s ministry mission statement is for our covenant kids to grow up to know, enjoy, and glorify Jesus. As parents and teachers, we recognize that before God, we are equally in need of grace as our children! We need to embrace God’s love as we extend it to our little ones. We also believe that it is important for children of all colors to see themselves in their teachers and leaders. Our children’s ministry team reflects God’s kingdom through multi-ethnic/cross-cultural community. We engage our children’s hearts and heads in Sunday Equipping Classes, and by including them in the family worship service. We believe that parents and caregivers are their children’s most important teachers, and we seek to support and walk alongside families in discipling their children.
Nursery: Little ones are important to God and to us! Safety is our first priority in the nursery. All children are signed in and out at the door. Our staff and volunteers all have background checks. We strive to create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment so you can have peace of mind during worship. We provide a snack of goldfish and animal crackers, so please let us know if your child has any allergies. Our nursery is for infants through 4 year olds. When children turn 5, we help families transition them to the service for family worship.
Elementary: Our elementary Sunday Equipping classes are divided between grades k-2, and 3-4. During class, we engaged our children’s hearts and minds through stories, music, art, and play. We include children 5 and up in the family worship service because we believe that the best way for children to learn to worship and listen to the word is from watching their parents.
Youth: We believe in involving our youth in the life of the church. Grades 5-8 have their own Sunday Equipping Class, as well as community building events during the year. High school students have the opportunity to join their parents in adult Sunday Equipping Class, or to serve as junior helpers in elementary classes. Our youth are also involved in different ministry teams throughout the church.
At The Village Church we believe that children with special needs are a blessing. If your family has any special needs, please let us know! As a small church, we do not have a special needs class, but we accommodate for every child on a personal level. During the service, children 5 and under with special needs can be accommodated in the nursery. Please let the nursery workers know what your child’s needs are. If your child is older than 5 and needs accommodations during the service, email Mary Anne Hunter at email@example.com and we will develop a plan just for them. We thank you for giving us the honor of ministering to your family!
